What is the Durham County Democratic Party?

We are the official local organization of the North Carolina Democratic Party, comprised of registered Democratic voters living in Durham County.  We organize and vote for Democratic priorities in our city, county, and state, with the primary goal of electing Democrats up and down the ballot.  We seek to build a dynamic and inclusive community-based movement in pursuit of economic, racial, social, and environmental justice for the people of Durham and of all North Carolina.  For more policy specifics, see the party platform.

How Can I Help?

Whatever you can offer, we need!  If you are willing to volunteer, we need people to knock on doors, make phone calls, and staff tables at community events.  If you have resources you can share, you can donate to our work here.  If you have a strong social network, help us get the word out about what the Democratic Party is doing in Durham.  If you aren’t sure what you can bring to the table, ask!

How Do I Get Involved?

The best way to get started with local Democratic efforts is to connect with your local precinct.  You can find your assigned precinct here, and then find your precinct leadership hereSubscribe to our newsletter, and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to keep up to date.  Any registered Democrat can attend monthly County Executive Committee meetings. Announcements are posted on our home page and social media.
