County Convention

The Durham County Democratic Party will hold its annual convention this year on Saturday, April 18th, at 10:30AM.  Registration begins at 9:45AM.  All Democrats are welcome, but only delegates elected at annual precinct meetings are eligible to vote.

Convention will be held in the County Commissioners Chambers, located in the Old Courthouse building at 200 E. Main St.  Ample parking is available in the Church St. garage adjacent to the building.

At this year's convention, we will be electing officers, State Executive Committee members, and delegates to the 4th District Convention.  Special guest speaker will be Congressman David Price.

We will also be voting on resolutions passed at annual precinct meetings.

"When the polls closed at 5 pm at SW Elementary, the election judges ushered the remaining voters into the building and shut the door. It was eerily quiet in the parking lot. The crescent moon (moon of hope ) was rising on the horizon and as we looked around, we realized that the only remaining witnesses were we volunteers.  There was nothing else to do but capture the moment with a picture."

North Carolina is in play

Barack Obama and Joe Biden took the unusual step of appearing together on Saturday, the morning after the first presidential debate.  And they did it right here in North Carolina, at a rally in Greensboro.  This state may not have gone for a Democrat in a presidential race since 1976, but we can make it happen this year!
